Our yarns are hand dyed with natural botanical materials. Kittiwake has been handspun by us and is plyed using two a two strand techique to give a chunky/bulky like weight with some variability in strand width. Wensleydale has characteristic long curly locks adding texture to the strands. It has been dyed using black beans giving subtle blue/grey tones that remind us of the colouring seen in the Kittiwake sea bird. This yarn has a super soft feel with an excellent drape when knitted, can be worn next to the skin but equally ideal for adding texture to weaving projects.
Our yarns are colourfast and have been throughly rinsed after they have been dyed.

About this wool: This wool has been sourced locally from Little Markfield Farm from Danny the sheep. The wool has been hand prepared and spun by us, preserving the characteristic long length and curly locks to retain the beautiful texture.
PLEASE NOTE: While we are careful to represent the actual colours as best we can in the photographs it is not always possible to match exactly. Also due to the nature of natural dyes there may be slight variability between batches.
